Ebooks

USW Library ebooks are available through different online platforms. These platforms will vary in terms of download and user licence agreements. We recommend that you refer to the individual providers for full details of availability and accessibility features. Below is a general guide to accessing, downloading and reading eBooks.

Reading an ebook online

You can read ebooks online simply by clicking the Online access link on FINDit once you have found the title you want.

Most ebook sessions will last until you close it, but some books may close automatically after a pre-set time. This should be explained in a warning message before you open the book.

Note: If you leave an eBook inactive for more than 15 minutes in read online mode it may time out and you will have to access it again. Avoid this by turning the page occasionally.

Downloading an ebook

We recommend the use of  Adobe Digital Editions to download an ebook. All USW computers already have this software installed. If using your own device, you can download it directly for free, without an account.
