Getting Started in the Library

New to the Library? There are lots of ways in which we can help.

The Library has put together a getting started guide to help guide you through the library basics and information about each of our four campuses.


Undergraduates & taught postgraduates can borrow up to 25 items

We also have 'How to' videos to help you navigate your account, find books, ebooks and journal articles via FINDit our library catalogue.

Did you know that you can also order books from other campuses and pick them up from the uni library closest to you?

Online Resources

We don't just have books in our libraries. We also have online collections for you to use.

You can search across a wide range of resources and find items held in these collections by using FINDit.

We also have created a set of Library guides to help guide you with subject support, referencing, reading lists or BOB an on demand radio and TV service.

Faculty Librarians

Your Faculty Librarians can help you:

  • Use FINDit to search for books, ebooks, quality journal articles, and use our databases effectively
  • Create a search strategy
  • Manage your research and keep up to date
  • Get the most from the library
