11 February is International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The day is designed to promote the full and equal access to, and participation in, the sciences for women and girls.
Statistics from UK Government which have been complied by WISE campaign show that in 2019 (images credited to WISE campaign):
10.3% of Engineering Professionals were women. This is double the amount from ten years ago.
6.4% of ICT Professionals were women. A slight decrease on the year before
45.7% of Science Professional were women.
However, did you know one of USW’s senior academics, Penny Holburn, helped create the Wales Women in Stem network last year?
USW Library is supporting you by highlighting some of our practical women in science books both in the Library and through our Women in Stem online reading list.
